Jennifer Murphey bio

Jennifer Murphey is a skilled and passionate advocate for the elderly, disabled, mentally ill, and the families who care for those individuals.

Jennifer focuses her practice in the areas of elder law; special needs, benefits and long-term care planning; guardianships and conservatorships; and estate planning. She launched her legal career at Frazer Ryan after serving the firm as an intern.

Advocate for the Elderly, Disabled and Mentally Ill

Prior to entering law school at Arizona State University, Jennifer worked in management in the long-term care industry and brings to the firm working knowledge of health care and benefits administration and administrative proceedings. With this experience, Jennifer developed a passion for advocating for the elderly, disabled, mentally ill, and the families and workers who take care of those individuals. She also successfully fought for increased wages for the workers, investigated alleged resident abuse, and was consistently victorious in administrative proceedings and appeals.

While in law school, Jennifer devoted her time to the community through leadership positions with the Health Law Association, the Homeless Legal Assistance Project, and the Veterans Law Association. Jennifer also researched and wrote extensively on topics related to the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS), the housing needs and individual rights of persons with mental illness, and special issues related to the disabled community.

Dementia Care

Jennifer was chosen as a 2018 Fellow for the Hospice of the Valley’s inaugural Dementia Care Fellowship Program, through which she is establishing and implementing an organizational change project to improve the care for persons with dementia by creating a reference guide of legal information for families of persons with dementia.
