Partner Jimmy Cool is featured in a Phoenix New Times article discussing a lawsuit he filed that stems from a dispute between his clients and Mesa-based cleaning company, Cardinal Clean. The article notes that after hiring Cardinal Clean to store their belongings and complete restoration work on their condo, our clients were presented with a surprise bill for $61,000 after being promised their bill would not exceed $15,000. The lawsuit alleges the cleaning company said our clients’ belongings required extra cleaning to remove a thin layer of “fecal matter.” Despite that claim, photos and video evidence confirm the restoration company’s employees ate with their bare hands while working in the home and did not wear personal protective equipment, casting doubt on their claim about contamination. So, our clients refused to pay the exorbitant bill. The cleaning company is now holding their possessions hostage. Mr. Cool’s clients are accusing the cleaning company of fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of contract, among other allegations.
