    Overview

Afsanieh Rassti’s practice areas include estate planning, probate, trust administration, and trust and estate litigation.

A Dallas native who grew up in Fountain Hills, Arizona, Afsanieh earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees at Arizona State University. While a student at the ASU Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, she served on the executive council of the Pro Bono Board and helped establish the Law Society of Human Rights to support law students in participating in human rights missions abroad.

Before she began her practice in estate planning in 2017, she focused on global immigration issues, assisting Iranian families with family and employment-based visas. Afsanieh joined Frazer Ryan in the summer of 2022 to expand her practice.

As an estate practitioner, Afsanieh has met with hundreds of families regarding their individualized estate planning needs. She focuses on planning objectives and strategies from a fresh foundation to updating pre-existing and outdated estate plans. Another core area of Afsanieh’s practice is representing trustees and beneficiaries in estate and trust administration which may sometimes lead to contested trust and probate litigation matters. What makes Afsanieh unique in this niche area of the law is her significant experience in drafting and implementing estate plans, coupled with her experience in representing clients in contested trusts and probate matters. She is effectively able to identify problematic issues during the drafting stage as well as any issues that may arise during the administration of a trust or estate. She can also advise clients of potential litigation issues that may come to light as a result of bad planning. Afsanieh offers a holistic approach to estate planning which she firmly believes is integral in creating an effective and ironclad plan and legacy. With a keen focus on familial dynamics, culture, and backgrounds, Afsanieh strives to ensure clients create an estate plan that is not only comprehensive but puts clients at ease so their families and assets are protected even after they are gone. As an estate planner, Afsanieh believes we are essentially the “guardians” of a client’s financial and familial assets.

In addition to her legal practice, Afsanieh is heavily involved in giving back to the legal community, serving on the national Board of Directors of the Iranian American Bar Association (IABA) since being admitted to practice. She has been heavily involved in national conference planning with the IABA for several years bringing together legal experts, judges, and accomplished members of the Iranian-American community across the country to the table, and raising money for student scholarships and future attorneys.

In her free time, Afsanieh enjoys spending time with her family and friends, football, traveling the world, and experiencing new cultures and food.
