Retirements of Chick Arnold, Yale Goldberg leave an enduring legacy

January 4, 2021 | News

On December 31, 2020, two giants in Arizona’s legal community, Frazer Ryan’s Chick Arnold (left) and Yale Goldberg, retired from the practice of law.

They join firm co-founder Dave Frazer as Partners Emeritus.

Their retirements represent a significant loss to the legal profession and the general public, as for decades Chick and Yale provided nationally recognized leadership and unsurpassed skill in their respective practice areas of tax law and mental health advocacy.

Here at Frazer Ryan, Yale and Chick’s mentorship, unfailing friendship, and comforting presence are greatly missed by our attorneys and staff.

At the same time, their retirements leave in their wake an incredible legacy – and a wealth of legal talent – for the law firm that they helped elevate to the upper echelon of Arizona’s legal community.

With the interests of the firm and future clients close to their hearts, Yale and Chick meticulously planned for their departures by recruiting, training and equipping talented successors who would perpetuate the levels of legal skill and personal service that our clients have long associated with, and expect from, Frazer Ryan Goldberg & Arnold.

Passing the Torch

The tax controversy practice that Yale Goldberg created more than 30 years ago now functions under the skilled stewardship of:

  • senior partner Brandon Keim, a Certified Tax Law Specialist, licensed CPA, and former IRS senior trial attorney;
  • senior partner Lisa Reilly Payton, whom Yale mentored from the time she joined our firm in 2011; and
  • partner Mike Harsch, a former IRS revenue agent with 20 years of Arizona tax controversy experience
