Frazer Ryan senior partner T.J. Ryan has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Only 33 active Arizona lawyers have earned this honor. Further, T.J. and his father, firm co-founder Jim Ryan, are the only Arizona father-and-son duo to receive ACTEC recognition.

ACTEC is a national organization of approximately 2,500 lawyers elected to membership by “demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence, and experience as trust and estate counselors … with decades of experience representing and advising families.” It is the nation’s most prestigious organization for estate planning, probate and trust attorneys.

To qualify for membership, a lawyer must have no less than 10 years of experience in the active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning. Lawyers and law professors are elected to be Fellows based on their reputation, skill, and contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities.

T.J. Ryan’s practice encompasses virtually all aspects of family estates, from estate planning and business planning, to probate and trust administration, to litigating contested estates – an area in which he has achieved a strong track record for positive results.

A leader in the Arizona legal community, T.J. is a past president of the Maricopa County Bar Association. He is also a Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America® honoree and in 2015 was selected by Best Lawyers as Phoenix “Lawyer of the Year” in Trust Litigation.
